Hebrews 10:23 Let us hold fast the profession of our faith without wavering. When we really believe something, then we cannot be moved from that belief. I believe that I own a chevrolet truck, you can tell me it is a toyota, but I know it is a chevrolet. I wont change my mind about what is in the driveway. The same is true of my belief in Jesus. I know beyond any shadow of a doubt that He lives in me. Why, because the evidence is there. Just like there is proof that my truck is a chevy ; Jesus has proven Himself real in my life. Nobody can shake that, no matter how hard they try. I will hold fast till the end. Why do so many people struggle and fall away? There are many reasons this happens, yet I find they have not truly found the evidence in their own lives to say Jesus is real. Christianity is not an emotional experience. There are times when you accend to the mountaintop to find joy and peace. A time of rest. However most times are filled with battles and skirmishes in your mind. In order to hold fast to your faith, you must read the word of God every morning. It is what gives you ammunition to fight against the attacks of your enemy. Would you go to war with no bullets? I dont think so. You walk with God is an everyday battle for your soul. Dont be a weak crippled soldier, arm yourself with the tools and weapons to win. It is a fact that you will not perservere or withstand the assaults of Satan without preparation. You must know beyond any shadow of a doubt which side you have chosen. Then you must arm yourself to participate in the fight. Most christians are Sunday warriors! This is sad and a bit frighting, yet it is true. They live their lives just like those that are lost, then come to church on Sunday and think they are okay. Let me say that they are losing the battle and dont even know it. It is not enough to live a good life of upstanding moral character. There will be many good people in Hell. The apostle Paul said to fight the good fight, that you may perserve to the end. This requires weapons, I.E. God's word. King David said, Thy word have I hid in my heart that I might not sin against you. If you really believe in something you will not waver from that belief. Seek the Lord early that you may have power to fight the enemy during the day long battle. Be wary of the things you allow into your life. Listen to your own conversations today and see what you have been believing. If you truly believe that Jesus is who He said He is, your conversation will be consumed by it! God Bless.

Get up and get Going
June 12, 2008
Matthew 9:2, And behold, they brought unto him a man sick of the palsy, lying on a bed: and Jesus seeing their faith said unto the sick of the palsy; Son, be of good cheer; thy sins be forgiven thee. Many people come for forgiveness and then continue to lay there in their infirmity. Matthew 9:6 But that you may know that the Son of man hath power on earth to forgive sins, (then he saith to the sick of the palsy,) Arise, take up thy bed, and go unto thine house. When Jesus forgives us of our sin, He also restores us. God said He would remove our sin as far as from the east to the west, and remember it no more. So, why then do some want to continue to repeat the same sins over and over? Lack of true repentance is the reason. When you feel conviction for your sin and it pains you , as if you have lost a loved one; then you have real conviction. If you only feel remorse because you have been caught in your sins; you will probably continue in them ; striving to hide them better. However , there are times when people are truly repentant, yet are so overwhelmed with guilt; they find it hard to get up. Guilt is a sign that we are doing or have done something wrong, but it can also be a weapon of the enemy. The Holy Spirit brings conviction, the enemy brings condemnation. Once we repent, we must get up and go forward. 0 Comments | Add Comment | Permalink
Foolish Wisdom
June 7, 2008
1 Corinthians 1:27 But God hath chosen the foolish things of the world to confound the wise; and God hath chosen the weak things of the world to confound the things which are mighty. I know a man named Willie, who has been mentally retarted since birth. He can be found on the front row at church any time the door is unlocked. It doesnt have to be a Wednesday or Sunday to find Willie there. He can be overbearing sometimes in his child-like condition. Yet Willie possesses a love for Jesus that most of us only wish we had. He doesnt concern himself with the cares of this life, his focus is on serving Jesus. There have been times when his simple words of love; spoken from a heart of true compassion, have impacted others greatly. God has used this man many times to bless others with something needed, like a simple hug. He can see past the facade that we put up. God will use the simple things to humble those who are wise in their own eyes. When will we learn to trust God and concern ourselves with the need of others? Most of us spent our time in pursuit of money, because we think it contains the secret of happiness. True joy comes not from the possession of things, but rather from knowing who Jesus is. When we know Jesus, then our possessions are no longer ours. We are no longer our own, we were bought with a price. We were payed for with HIs blood, the blood that was shed on the cross. Phillipians 2: 3-4 Let nothing be done through strife or vanity; but in lowliness of mind let each esteem others as better than themselves. Look not every man on his own things, but every man also on the things of others. This means concern yourself with whether your neighbor has need of groceries or paying the light bill. We need to get beyond the mentallity of "me and my 4 and no more." When the body of Christ begins to truly be the body of Christ, there will not be any among us who has lack. We will share our things corporately with each other. We will have wisdom like this man Willie, who the world looks upon as lacking his faculties. I pray that more of us may learn to have that simple child-like faith. Faith that possesses true wisdom. God Bless

Trust is a must
June 1, 2008
Proverbs 3:5-6 Trust in the Lord with all thine heart and lean not to thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge Him and He shall direct thy paths. This is easy to read and easy to quote; not so easy to do. We have spent our lives being educated on the things we are supposed to do to be successful in this life. Work hard, save your money and buy the things you want. The American theological mindset is sometimes off-base, in its concepts. The reason this has happened is because we have tried to fit God's word into our culture as if it was written specifically for us. The Bible was written for all mankind, but we must learn to interpret scripture in proper context. Just yesterday, I heard this saying: "God only helps those who help themselves." This is not scriptural!! This is however cultural, distinctive to our american culture. If this were a biblical truth, then when someone got caught with their hand in the cookie jar, could'nt it be said that God must be blessing them. They were helping themselves, werent they? Can you see the fallicy in this? No, God said "trust in the Lord." Why is it we think we are supposed to guide God in His decisions for our lives? I would venture to say its called selfishness! We set about doing the things that we want to do and then ask God to bless our endeavors. Wake up, it does not work that way. God said,"lean not to thine own understanding." When you come to a place of trusting God for everything, including daily provision or what to do with what you already possess, you will be where He wants you. When you trust trust someone completely you dont question the direction you are headed. Do you trust in the paychecks you recieve? Would you still have joy and peace if they were taken away? This is a true test of where your heart lies. I pray you will seek God and His will for your life with total abandonment. Let the Holy Spirit reveal truth to you, and read the Bible for yourself. Dont let someone else do what is your responsibility toward God to do! God Bless

Geological Focus
May 21, 2008
The do's and dont's of religion can be overwhelming to people. Especially those who are new to the faith and have just accepted Christ. I have been in the faith a long time and have seen the failure of many. I have personally failed many times and beat myself up over those issues. I have learned through many trials and temptations, that it is not about me. It is about Jesus and Him alone. Jesus said: I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the father but by me. We get so caught up in trying to be what the church tells us we should be, that we forget WHO it is about. If we shall spend our time worshipping Jesus everyday; our lives will begin to change. Let us focus on who Jesus is. Forget about what He can do for us and focus on Him as Lord. One day we will stand before Him and give an account of our lives. Will your account be about what you did and did not do in this life. Or will it be an account of how you worshipped Him and loved Him day in and day out. I would rather my life be an account of how much I loved Him. Yes, I will have made mistakes along the way, yet He is just and quick to forgive those who ask and are repentant. When you fail, does your heart hurt? Is it filled with anguish, like you had a love one die? It should be! When we love Him with all we are, we will find ourselves in His will. You do not need to worry about whether what you do is right or wrong; you will know. The Holy Spirit will bring sorrow to your heart, bringing you to that place of crying out to Jesus. Love Him today, love Him with everything you are and watch Him love you back. Stop trying to be something that you can never be on your own. You cannot be Holy in the flesh! Acts and works of righteousness without Christ are useless. Remember That Jesus is all Christianity is about. It is about Him and Him alone. The denomination you belong to will not get you to heaven! Jesus and only Jesus saves! Focus on Him, love Him with all your heart. Herein lies the core of being a Christian. God Bless.

Total Insanity
May 8, 2008
Christianity is foolishness to those who consider themselves wise, by the world's standards. our arch enemy, Lucifer, doesn't care if we go to church, sing, pray, and play church. However, when we begin to walk out what God commanded; truly OBEY His precepts, the enemy will not stand idly by and watch. We need to be aware that when we give our life to Jesus; all HELL will come against us. The definition of insanity is: Doing the same thing you have always done and expecting a different result. All great moves of the Holy Spirit were preceded by people of God thinking and acting " outside the box ." They were not satisfied with the same ole stuff that they were use to. These people are hungry and desperate to see God manifest His power on their behalf. I can promise you that the prayers and worship of these people was not selfish. They were not praying, Lord I need and want. Their heart burned within them for the lost and downtrodden. Matthew 11:28 Come unto me, all ye that labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. People in this world are heavy laden; they are burden by life's everyday things. They become choked by the care's of this life, and it weighs heavy upon them. This is why we have so many alcoholics, drug attics, and people hooked on ponography, and every other form of vice. They are simply looking for relief from what weighs heavy on them. I dont say this with any judgementalism, because God delivered me from drugs and alcohol. I speak only of the things that I personally have experienced and walked out. Jesus is the answer!! We speak about faith and the power that comes with it; yet most times we really dont possess it. I have faith that God is going to provide me with wealth, even though I am currently broke and without a job. Why would I believe such? Because this wealth is not for me and my family; God has given me the vision to support missions work locally, nationally, globally. This will require great sums of money and God has had to bring me to a place of poverty; to learn to be faithful with a little. The world say's it is insanity to pay a tithe and offering, when you dont have gas money and cant pay the light bill. My own family contends this is stupid and not sound judgement on my part. However I know a God who is my provider!! Is it insanity to believe this way? Absolutely, by world standards; but I dont live by those standards anymore. I live by the promise that Jesus will never leave me or forsake me. Also, I have never seen the righteous forsaken or begging for bread. Try a little insanity today!! God bless.

Poverty or Prosperity
May 5, 2008
Psalm 37:25 I have been young, and now am old; yet I have not seen the righteous forsaken, nor His seed begging for bread. We are on the brink of depression in this country and currently are in a recession. The so called experts will say it isnt so, yet many are suffering financially. Gas prices are ridiculous and the politicians keep smiling at us as they pad their pockets with oil money! More people have lost their homes than at any time in this countries history. So what are we to do? Proverbs 3:5-10 Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not to thine own understanding. In all thy ways ackknowledge Him, and He shall direct thy paths. Be not wise in thine own eyes: fear the Lord, and depart from evil. It shall be health to thy navel, and marrow to thy bones. Honor the Lord with thy substance, and with thy firstfruits of all thine increase: So shall thy barns be filled with plenty, and thy presses shall burst out with new wine. I find that Christians really struggle with dicerning the difference between God laws of provision and the "world model " of self-sufficiency. The fact is: from the time we are small children we are taught that you have to look out for #1. If you are going to be successful, then you must lay aside personal feelings toward others and do what is right for you. All business models will teach you that in order to WIN, someone has to lose. This is not and has never been God's design. God wants you to be concerned with your brothers needs, not your own. My dad once told me that I allowed too many people to take advantage of my generosity. My reply was, " Nobody can take advantage of me, when I willingly give." Philipians 2:3-4 Let nothing be done through strife or vainglory; but in lowliness of mind let each esteem others better than themselves. Look not every man on his own things, but every man also on the things of others. Are you concerned with whether or not your neighbor has groceries? Or is your car payment more important? How about this one: Do you even know your neighbors name? We live in a world where you can live next door to someone for years and never even know who they are, much less their name. Why is this? Jesus commanded us to Love the Lord with all your heart and love your neighbor as yourself. How can you love your neighbor when you dont know them? When we begin to share what we have with others we will find that we have more than enough to go around. A little boy only had 5 loaves and two fish, yet he gave them; to meet the need of others. How much more do we have? Let God minister to you today about where to direct the resources you have in your hands. May there be bread in your house today!! God bless.

Barned Agin?
April 30, 2008
When we are born again, we are born of the spirit. Jesus said," whatsoever is born of the flesh is flesh and that whatsoever is born of the spirit is spirit. Also in 2 Corinthians 5:17 Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new. Well, if our spirit is become new; why then does everyone want to judge us by the flesh? It is true that you will begin to change outwardly, but only after you learn to bring that flesh under control of the spirit. This does not happen overnight, it is a slow, continual process. The apostle Paul said he had to mortify his flesh daily. What ever did he mean? Simply this, he had to make an effort to control his flesh by the leading of his spirit. Salvation in and of itself is FREE, however, discipleship cost you everything!! My flesh does not want to follow what my spirit would have it to do. Here in lies the greatest challenge for the individual and the biggest problem within the church. If people would just understand that the flesh is not saved and is never going to be saved; we could make great spiritual strides. We are going to put this body in the ground one day, it is not going to heaven. It has been my observation that most people in the church today never grow beyond infancy. This is a problem and many pastors are partially to blame. 1st, they either dont know the fullness of the triune being, or they are flat out job scared! I venture to sat it is the latter case mostly. We have far too many pastors who choose ministry as a career path because they want to do good in the world, yet are not specifically called of God to do so. These men will not dare tell you the realities of Christianity for fear of losing their job; others simply dont know those realities. The apostle Paul worked and paid his own way, during his ministry. Am I saying that we should not financially support our pastors? No, this is not what I am saying; I am merely trying to point out that Paul was not scared to give the people the truth, because they could not fire him!! I have a dear friend of mine who is a pastor; when he 1st took over at the church he now pastors; he told me he fully expected to be fired within three months. Why would he make such a statement? Did he feel inadequate for the job? Quite the opposite, he fully intended to give the people the truth. Not a watered down version, but one that would peirce the hearts and bring about change. He would not allow " observers" in his congregation. These are people who are always there, just dont apply anything to their lives. He knew going in to that pastorate that people were going to leave that church, because of him. He also knew that he had a mandate from God to speak the things he has spoken. This pastor is not a judgemental man, he fully understands the triune being. He also knew there where many wolves among the sheep! You see, a wolf will not stand up under the scrutiny of the Word. Well, if we are not to condemn those who have faults, then why am I now calling them wolves? Understand this, there is a difference between someone who has a saved spirit...
Psalm 119:28 My soul melteth for heaviness: strengthen thou me according unto thy word. Have you felt a heavy weight upon you lately? I have, and it is not pleasant. Sometimes, no matter how much you pray, read the word, and praise God; you feel emotionally empty. I Peter 1:5-7 Who are kept by the power of God through faith unto salvation ready to be revealed in the last time. Wherein ye greatly rejoice, though now for a season, if need be, ye are in heaviness through manifold temptations: That the trial of your faith, being more precious than of gold that perisheth, though it be tried with fire, might be found unto praise and honor and glory at the appearing of Jesus Christ: I wish I could give you an easy answer to this oppresive emotional state of being; I dont have one. All the theological stances on why this happens, wont make you feel any better. I have tried to live by this statement: WHEN ALL ELSE FAILS, PRAISE GOD!! As I begin to praise the Lord I find relief from this depression. You might comment: I dont feel like giving praise; -me either. I just know that God inhabits the praises of His people. I cannot tell you why God allows this, other than to prove Himself strong and to Glorify Himself. The enemy will lie to you and try to break you; dont give in. The trials of Job far surpass any that we will face; yet he was a righteous man who loved God. He held fast even when he was emotionally drained, physically sick, and falsely labeled by his friends. Isaiah 61:3 To appoint unto them that mourn in Zion, to give unto them beauty for ashes, the oil of joy for mourning, the garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness; that they might be called trees of righteousness, the planting of the Lord, that He might be glorified. These trials will come and they wil go, but they will polish you into a shiny vessel. We all love the mountain top experience, where we feel the presence of God and get all tingly. However, this is not where you get to know God. The valley is where you get to know God. That place where you dont sense His presense. It is here that you learn how to walk in His word. To follow those things which are difficult. No one holding your hand, no one witnessing your descisions to obey or not. Only you and God know how you react to these trials. And you and you only will learn how to lean on God, even when you cannot sense Him. When David wrote the 23 Psalm, he did not have an emotional sense of God's presense, yet he knew that God was with him. Praise God today when you are alone and watch what God will do! May you praise Him loudly today! God Bless
Psalm 109:22 For I am poor and needy, and my heart is wounded within me. There are things we face in life that wound us. They cause us anguish and hurt. Unkind people, a mean spirited boss, the person who can't stand you no matter what acts of kindess you bestow upon them. Family that you love deeply, yet they regard you with contempt. These things wound your heart. King David understood this and so He gave us many words of wisdom regarding this area of life. Psalm 73:26 My flesh and my heart faileth: but God is the strength of my heart, and my portionforever. God will uphold you when you feel like the whole world is against you. Truth is: if you are truly serving God, then the world is against you. The 119th Psalm is the longest Psalm in the bible, it has 176 verses. Over and over again, David writes about hiding God's word in your heart. I cannot stress how important it is to read the bible and get yourself in line with it. God heals us and gives us comfort, He promises us these things. If you dont know what God has promised you in His word, how are you going to stand on His promises. David wrote: Thy word have I hid in my heart, that I might not sin against you. We are going to be wounded in life. When you cut yourself, that wound will heal; but it leaves a scar. This scar tissue is callous and tuff. Our heart is much the same, it hardens, every time someone hurts us. When it heals, it leaves scar tissue. This is not physical scars, but rather spiritual scars. You can recognize people who have been wounded deeply many times. Life just seems to way heavy on them. They are callous and grumpy toward others, even those people they dont know. There is healing for them, if they will accept it.
Ezekiel 36:26 A new heart also will I give you, and a new spirit will I put within you : And I will take away the stony heart out of your flesh, and I will give you a heart of flesh. We dont have to allow the wounds of life to scar us and cause us to become bitter and callous. We can let God heal those wounds, each time we are cut. His Spirit in us will cause us to love our enemies and pray for them. Prayers of love and repentence; to bring salvation to them. If you have been deeply wounded by things and people in this life, let God begin a healing work in you today. You can once again know joy and happiness, peace and rest. These are things that God has promised His people. He sent his Son, Jesu, who died on a cross for us. It was the greatest act of love, ever bestowed on man. Dont let His gift of salvation pass you by. Jesus will restore your heart and remove the scar tissue that has made you tuff and callous. If you do know Him, then begin to hide that word in your heart, cause there are probably things that you are still holding on to. Trophy scars, so to speak; let them go! I pray God will Bless you today.
Hebrews 4:12 For the word of God is quick and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, peircing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart. We are made up of spirit, soul and body. Our spirit is either saved and serving God or it is not. Our soul is our concious being or mind. Our body is just flesh and that is all it will ever be. Before we were saved we did what our flesh wanted to do and our soul was in agreement, we were spiritually dead. Once we accepted Jesus our spirit was born, or born again as we say. Yet my mind still wants to continue on its familiar path. Romans 12:2 And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect will of God. Here is the problem: my mind and flesh war against my spirit. The apostle Paul outlined this in Romans 7:19 For the good that I would do, I do not do: but the evil which I would not want to do, that I do. He goes on to say ," who shall deliver me from this body of death." Jesus will deliver us!! Now flesh is flesh. This is why Jesus told Nicodemus that which is born of flesh is flesh and that which is born of spirit is spirit. We need to understand how important it is to read God's word. King David wrote: Thy word have I hid in my heart, that I might not sin against you. We can go to church, pray, sing and do all the churchy things and still struggle, if we dont do all that God has commanded us to do. If I dont have God's word daily renewing my mind, I will automatically follow what my flesh wants to do. So here is reality, I will always have a battle with flesh, it is flesh. We must make the flesh do what the spirit leads us to do. In the beginning it is difficult, but it gets easier after time. The truth is I will war against my flesh until they put it in the ground. The word of God brings my soul or my mind in line with God's will, and then I can be led by the spirit. It can be a painful proposition and this is why so many people wander around lost; even in the church. Dont be lazy, get that word in you, so you have weapons to fight the flesh. You will have tribulation on this earth, but you dont have to be miserable in the midst of it. Tear that soul away from the flesh and let the Spirit of God guide you today!! God Bless. 0 Comments | Add Comment | Permalink
Judge and Jury?
April 14, 2008
Psalm 1:1 Blessed is the man that walks not in the council of the ungodly, nor standeth in the way of sinners, nor sits in the seat of the scornful. Can you identify any of these people? I am sure you can, only here is something to think about. When we are saved and born again, it is something that takes place in our spirit. It is our spirit that undergoes this transformation. Our flesh remains exactly what it is, flesh. Why then do we always want to judge our brother by what we see. All we can see is flesh, so how are we to judge their spirit. The apostle Peter saw Jesus, he walked with Jesus, he saw the miracles with his own eyes; yet he denied Him and turned away in confusion. If we were to judge Peter by the standard that many use today, we would come to the conclusion that Peter obviously wasnt saved. 2 Timothy3:5 Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away. However, we know this is not the case; only because we have the "rest of the story" so to speak. What about the guy at church who is always there participating; then you see him break the rules, he sins. What then? The apostle Paul wrote that the spirit is willing, but the flesh is weak. He also said to mortify your flesh, or put it to death. He understood that even if your spirit is saved, your flesh will rise up against you. We dont have the end of the story on these people and they most certainly will not stand before you or me in the judgement, so why do we judge them so harshly here on earth. Paul also tells us that there was given to him a thorn in the flesh, even though he prayed three times for the Lord to remove this obstacle; God did not. He also wrote that were sin abounds, grace doth also abound. So should we sin as a means of having grace? He said absolutely not. We can however judge others by their fruit. Do they cause you to think of Jesus when you see them? Are they the kind of person that makes you feel uplifted when you are around them? Do they give you hope? These are qualities of a person who knows Christ !! If someone is always speaking ill of others and being critical of how others live, beware. Our only duty as a Christian is to point people toward Christ !! I cannot save anyone or give them revelation. I can only point the way to the river of life. The Holy Spirit then draws them, gives revelation of the word, and Jesus alone saves. Let us be beacons of hope today ! God Bless.
Ever hear something in your spirit and it makes no sense whatsoever? The other day I was sharing the word with three young men about Manna and having to possess your blessings. I heard in my spirit," It is getting ready to rain blessings, build a boat !" Well naturally I thought, build a what? I am a carpenter by trade and a servant by the grace of God; but I dont know about building boats. Then I heard it again, just as clear as if someone standing there was speaking to me. I got excited, and when I did, these young men wanted to know about what. When I shared that God told me to build a boat cuz it was getting ready to rain blessings on this community. God did not want us to be overwhelmed and drown. What He was telling us, was that we needed tp prepare for what was coming. Noah did that for over a hundred years. Well, these young men hooked-up to the vision and we began to build a boat. Now this is gonna be small river boat, but it isnt about the boat. It is about hearing the voice of God and being obediant to what you hear. Jesus spent a lot of time telling people, he who has ears to hear, let them hear. Has God been speaking to you lately? Are you doing what He asks you? I know that sometimes it can seem like foolishness, but then He said he would confound the wise with the foolishness of preaching. If you want God's blessing on your life, learn to hear His voice and simply obey. God isnt in to denominational squabbles, He only wants humble people who are hungry to know who He is. May God bless you today and call your name. Jesus called them friend!
What do I mean, when I speak about a "crockpot miracle"? I am talking about those miracles that are slow in developing. Most of us want a "microwave miracle," the instintaneous kind. We stand and pray and expect God to wave a majic wand and presto, I get what I want. Well, God is not like that , we better understand that He is Holy, and we are to Fear the Lord. Proverbs 9:10 The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom: and the knowledge of the holy is understanding. Exodus 14:22 And the children of Israel went into the midst of the sea upon the dry ground: and the waters were a wall unto them on their right hand, and on their left. Folks, that is a fantastic visual, jaw-droppin, kinda miracle! As awe inspiring as this was, it did not change the hearts of those who saw it. Then we have those miracles which take place so gradually, that we dont even recognize them. You pray for an oak tree and God gives you an acorn, you think; what is this? It is your miracle in crockpot form! You have to take time to grow your miracle, nuture it, hang on to it. Speak of it and get it to grow. It will one day manifest so huge that it will overwhelm you, and you probably would not know how it happened if you had not possessed the miracle in seedling form. Here is what I think of microwave style miracles, they are flashy, exciting, and if you have no "deep-roots," you wont hang on to it very long. Things that take time to obtain, give you a better appreciation of having them. My ole pappy youse to say " If it aint worth working for, it aint worth havin." Lets look at the crockpot analogy: When you cook in the crock pot, you throw everything in and turn it on. At 1st each item has its own flavor. The bell pepper is bold, the onion is strong, and so on. But as these things are put under heat and begin to "simmer," the flavors begin to intermingle. The 1st day that meal is good, the 2nd even better, but by the end of the week; that crockpot is erupting a sweet succulent smell that permeates everything in the house. Nothing is untouched by it's fragrance. Now that is what God wants for you! Your miracles should be so deeply steeped and ingrained in you that it exudes from you and envelops those around you. Acts 5:15 Insomuch that they brought forth the sick into the streets, and laid them on beds and couches, that at the least the shadow of Peter passing by might overshadow some of them. God wants your miracles to bless all those who come in contact with you. Food for thought! God Bless.
Beware the leaven of the Pharisees, a little leaven leaveneth the whole loaf. Be careful what you do with what you hear! In an age of technology, that allows a single message to be heard around the world in seconds, danger lurks. Those of us who know Christ or claim to know Him, must not be moved by what we hear. We listen to the evening news and form opinions based on someone elses interpretation of events. We then bring the worlds garbage into the congregation of the saints. Why do we do this? God tells us to beware of wolves in sheeps clothing! Chances are the wolf does not even know he is a wolf. He is just repeating the report he has heard, without ever having understanding of the impact that it has on the congregation. You will recognize them; they are always telling you about bad happenings around the world and in your neighborhood. Who got divorced, or who was at the bar, or who did something, they judged to be unworthy. We have all sinned and come short of the Glory of God. Who am I to pass judgement on another. This is not to say that I dont have discernment, and recognize sin when I see it. I just simply dont have to elevate myself or deceive myself into thinking that I am any better than that person. Some of the most well meaning people are wolves. Example: I have heard people in the church give other people advice that was not Godly. Such as; You dont deserve to be treated that way, divorce that person, God doesnt want you to live like that. He will bring you somebody else. Folks, this is not Godly advice: WOLF ALERT!! Why have we allowed the so called wisdom of the world tp permeate the halls of the church. I will tell you why, most people are inherently LAZY and refuse to read the Bible for themselves. It is much easier to have someone else do it for you and tell you what they think it means. How are you going to hear from God ,when you refuse to listen? The church has been so saturated with the customs of this world that it is no longer distinguishable from the world. SHAME ON US! Let us begin to recognize the things that are not of God and repent of them. I pray God open your eyes today! God Bless.

SMOKING OR NON-SMOKING !
March 27, 2008
Revelation 20:11-15 And I saw a great white throne, and Him that sat on it, from whose face the earth and heaven fled away; and there was found no place for them. And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God; and the books were opened: and another book was opened, which is the book of life: and the dead were judged out of those things that were written in the books, according to their works. And the sea gave up the dead which were in it; and death and Hell delivered up the dead which were in them: and they were judged every man according to their works. And death and Hell were cast into the "Lake of Fire." This is the second death. And whosever was not found in the book of Life was cast into the "Lake of Fire." So I ask you, do you know Jesus? He is our advocate, the lawyer who will stand with you and cover you with His Blood. This will blot out your sins; but only if you belong to Him! Paul writes in Colossians 1:13-14 Who hath delivered us from the power of darkness, and hath translated us into the kingdom of His dear son: In whom we have redemption through His blood, even the forgiveness of sins. Titus 2:12 Teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly, in this present world. Our own "self-righteousness" will not get us into the Kingdom. Clebe McClary is a man who had always lived a good clean, moral life. He was wounded severely by mortar fire on a hill in Vietnam. He states that he was dying and realized that he was about to go to Hell with high moral standards!! God spared his life and now he travels around the world sharing the gospel. Dont let yourself be deceived into thinking that being good is good enough! King David writes in Psalms139:23-24 Search me, oh God, and know my heart: try me, and know my thoughts: And see if there be any wicked way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting. Ask God to reveal to you things that you might not even be aware exist inside you. He will show those things that are not of Him. I plead with you to examine yourself and ask God for strength to be what He wants you to be. To do the things He wants you to do. The options are obvious: Smoking or non-smoking! Shall you spend eternity in the presence of the Almighty God, or shall you perish? God Bless!
Mark 1:41 And Jesus, moved with compassion, put forth His hand, and touched him, and saith unto him, I will; be thou clean. Jude 1:22 and of some have compassion, making a difference. Does your heart know compassion? One day I was driving down the road with my brother-in-law and a homeless man was standing alongside the road. My brother-in-law made the comment that he felt sorry for that man. I shocked his senses when I said, " I do not feel sorry for him, I have compassion for him." He did not understand my comment and thought me callous. I explained to him that if I only felt sorry for the man, then my action would be none. But having compassion meant that I must act upon what I felt. We fed him! I find that people confuse feeling sorry with true compassion. Feeling sorry for someone is a fleeting, passing emotion, that requires nothing of me. Compassion compels me to act ; I can do nothing short of what is needed. Complacency: Self-satisfaction; smugness( websters) It is easy to become complacent, when we dont humble ourselves and view ourselves in light of who we really are. If we say we feel sorry for someone, what we have done is elevate ourselves to a station above that other person. Only PRIDE does this! I am no better than the homeless person. In fact, he is probably better off than me, because he at least recognizes who he really is. We tend to deceive ourselves into thinking that we are somebody. Jesus knew that money could lead to pride, and pride to arrogance, exalting oneself to the status of ruler of your own life. When Jesus told the rich young ruler to go and sell all that he had; it wasnt so he would be broke. In fact, it was to show him his heart. God wants to prosper us, so we can have compassion on others and bless them. Compassion will always take action and cost me something; however the rewards are great. Complacency requires nothing and cost me much spiritually. I pray we will seek after God and learn what True compassion really is. God Bless.

SEEKING THE PROMISES
March 20, 2008
Jeremiah 27:9 Therefore harken not ye to your prophets, nor to your diviners, nor to your dreamers, nor to your enchanters, nor to your sorcerers, which speak unto you, saying, ye shall not serve the king of Babylon. Many times we rebel against authority because we disagree with their position. Here God is telling the Israelites to submit to the rule of a foriegn king. If they do as instructed then they will prosper and be just fine. If they refuse his authority it will not go well for them. Why did God do this? Simple, if you cant obey those in power whom you can see, how are you going to submit to the TRUE AUTHORITY that you cannot see! As Easter approaches we will dress up in our " Sunday Go To Meeting" clothes and attend church. For many, this only happens twice a year. We will hear sermons on the crucifiction and resurrection; Hallellua! We need to hear them; however we really need to hear that He TRULY is ALIVE and living. That we need to OBEY the the words written between Genesis and Revelation. Truth is most people who attend church dont read the Bible; they prefer to have those in minisrty do that and tell them what it says. God has promised us many wonderful things, but if you dont know what He has promised you; then they are useless to you. If I gave you a check for a thousand dollars, it would be yours. However, if you took it home and put it on the dresser and never cashed it ,then it would be of no good. You would still have the promise of the thousand dollars, yet you could not enjoy it's benefits. Try cashing the checks of promise that Jesus has given you today! We hear about Jesus being Alive and yet we dont really enjoy the benefits of what He did for us. It is such an awesome thing to wake up and realize that my Lord is hanging out with me today. I can enjoy His company and the peace that surrounds Him. We are deluged everyday by the media, I.E. Television,Radio, ect.. Are these things bringing good news to your ears? Do they tell you of Jesus and the promises He has for you? I know that we have Christian TV and radio programs, but do we watch them? Is Oprah your spiritual guide? I pray not. Let your heart be guided by the Holy Spirit today. Read some of the things that God has promised His children, then begin to speak that word over youself. Here is a good one: NO WEAPON FORMED AGAINST ME SHALL PROSPER !! Seek Him today and watch what He will do inside of you and around you. God Bless

FLAMES OF PASSION !
March 17, 2008
Luke 13:34 O Jerusalem, Jerusalem, which killest the prophets, and stonest them which are sent unto thee; how often would I have gathered thy children together, as a hen doth gather her brood under her wings, and you would not! How often have we looked upon those who are consumed in sin, and prayed for their calamity? I began to pray over a young man this past week, that I have never met. I know that this young man is full of evil. I began to interceed on his behalf. My prayer is not for his downfall, but rather his salvation. I'm not talking about half-hearted efforts here. I cried over half the day yesterday, over this man's soul. I have such a burning desire in me for his salvation, as if he were my own child. I cannot explain this other than to say that it is like "fire inside of me." Jesus cried over the condition of the children of Israel. If we are to be like Him, what makes us think that we should not do the same. If I only love my family and those who like me; I havent truly obeyed the commands of God. Have you felt a burning deep down inside for the lost? As we approach the advent of Easter; let us truly examine our hearts. Look at what Christ did for us, what He gave up, His sacrifice. His was an offering of love not matched by any other. We have heard John 3:16 so often, that I think we have become immune to it. We have hardened our hearts to the point of religious piety. We should have a burning passion for the lost; a desire so strong that we cannot escape it. Do you cry when you see young men selling drugs on the corner? Or do you think, I wish God would wipe them out ! Do you look upon those caught up in an "Alternative Lifestyle" and pray for them to go to Hell; or do you begin to weep for their souls. God hates sin and we all have it in our lives in one form or another. However, God loves His creation; in spite of us. Lets look at John 3:16 one more time: For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life. Do you not realize that our sin pains Him. We drive those nails deep into His hands and feet daily, without regard to the cost He paid. His passion was one of absolute 100% commitment. His commandment to us was nothing short of what He did. Matthew 16:24 Then Jesus said unto His disciples, if any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me. Do you really desire to follow Jesus?
Proverbs 4:23 Keep thy heart with all diligence; for out of it are the issues of life. If you were having chest pains, you would see a cardiologist; who would hook you up to a "heart monitor." The Holy Spirit is our monitor, who lets us know when we are not well. Jesus told us to guard our heart, for out of it comes either good or bad. Sometimes we think that just because we dont outwardly sin that we are okay. Did you know that a person with cardiac problems, has them for a long time; before they manifest themselves openly? They have been sick and did not realize it. Eventually that sickness will overtake them and the results can be devastating. One of the things that the Holy Spirit helps us with is, recognizing our weakness. Once we know these conditions exist, we can take steps to rectify them. We call it repentance. Scripture tells us that the Holy Spirit is the spirit of truth. He reveals all things to us; not just related to scripture; but about ourselves. The world standard would call it "self-examination," we call it "soul-searching." Have you took a good long look at your actions and convesations lateley? I know personally, the Holy Spirit has been showing me some things that I did not particularily care to see about myself. However, unless these things are exposed, they cannot be healed. I can walk, talk, and appear to be the kindest, gentlest, loving person on the face of the earth; yet hide bitterness and envy within me. Let me tell you though, you cant hide them for long! Take care not to decieve yourself into thinking you are okay. Satan is always planting seeds of hurt and anger and bitterness within you. You must constantly root out the weeds, to remain furtile ground for the Lord. Dont let your heart trouble you. The Apostle Paul told us that if your heart condems you, there is one greater than your heart. Let the Holy Spirit show you any problems with you "ticker." Then take steps to fix it! May you be blessed today.

COON-DOG PRAYER
March 10, 2008
1 Thessalonians 5:17 Pray without ceasing. A coon-dog will hunt for the racoon's scent until he picks up that scent; then he will run like crazy until he either "trees" the coon, or gets tired. most dogs will run all night if need be, to obtain the prize. However, as any dog hunter will tell you; some dogs get lost along the way. Why is this? Because they get tired and lag behind, the reward is no longer of great value to them. How often do we act this way? We start out praying with an intensity and passion, only to become tired and bored, in short order. We do not truly desire the things we are asking for !! If you want something bad enough, you will do what ever it takes to get it. I have known dogs that their greatest efforts were to find the "dogbox" and foodbowl. Most of them were quickly retired. Do we think God see's our half hearted efforts at prayer? You betcha! Prayer is conversation with God and He wants our full attention. Can you remember ever having conversations with people and they just really werent interested in talking to you? I know you have experienced this if you have talked to another human. As Christians, we sometimes see people that we are trying to share the gospel with, fade away. They are not interested in what we are telling them; and it can be real frustrating. Why, because they just dont care. How do you think it makes God feel, when we loose interest in talking to Him? We, like that ole coon-dog, run as fast as we can until we get tired and "bored"; then we give up. How many times have you heard someone say," I pray and I pray, yet I cant get an answer?" Revelation 3:15-16 I know thy works, that thou art neither cold nor hot: I would prefer thou be cold or hot. So then because thou art lukewarm, and neither cold or hot, I will spew thee out of my mouth. God don't want half-hearted people seeking after Him, so dont offer Him a coon-dog prayer! I pray this day that you will truly have a passion for your conversations with the Almighty. May you be convicted today! God Bless.

NAKED OYSTERS
March 8, 2008
John 17:22 And the glory which thou gavest Me I have given them; that they may be one, even as we are one. Christ 's prayer was that we would become of one mind, one, one body, one soul. But how do we do that? Lets try to gain some understanding here. You must become intimate with the Lord. We do this through exposing our true selves before Him. An oyster is a tasty morsel, yet it must first be stripped of its shell; before it can be savored. Just try knawing on that shell for a while and you will get nowhere. Your efforts to enjoy the reward will go unfulfilled. Like the oyster, we must have our outer shell removed, before the Lord can enjoy our presence. God don't want to chew on your hard shell any more than you can digest that oyster shell. Another comparison would be a couple on their honeymoon. That husband desires to be with his new bride; he has an expectation of what lies beneath her outer covering. Yet, until she is bare before him; he does not truly know what he has been given. Her clothes mask many things from the world around her. Dont we do much the same thing? We hide who we really are around our friends and associates, keeping little secrets from them. If we are to have true relationship with God and those of our local church, we must expose ourselves. NO dont get naked in front of the church, that is not what I am talking about. We do however need to be honest with God and our brothers and sisters in Christ. I once knew a man that asked a fellow at church how he was doing. After 15 minutes of this fellow pouring out his heart about his struggles and failures, the man replied to the fellow; I really did not want to know, I was just being polite! How many times have you posed that question to someone and really did not want to know? In order to become one with our brothers we need to become vunerable to them. We dont do this for fear of them exposing us to others and hurting us. This is a very real possibility. However, if everybody knows your faults, then nobody can hurt you with them, cuz everybody already knows. I use to laugh when people told lies about me, it was when they told the truth that I got mad! Let us learn to shuck the hardness of our exterior and come stripped bare before the Lord. Lets get naked today! God Bless.

ALL YOKED UP
March 6, 2008
Matthew 11:28-30 Come unto Me, all ye that labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take My yoke upon you, and learn of Me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls. For My yoke is easy and My burden is light. Several years ago I had the chance to go to Maine for the summer. While there I got to see oxen pulling teams in competition. These very large animals can pull massive amounts of weight. The oxen are "yoked up" together; and must work together to get to their destination. Let one get behind or get ahead of the other, and they will come to an immediate stop. What happens is they will turn to the right or left; stopping forward motion. Now lets understand what Jesus was saying to us in Matthew. When we are yoked with Christ, we must keep up with Him; and we must not run ahead of Him. If we do either of these, we get out of sorts with our destination. WE are not the leader on this team, yet we are an integral part of where He is leading us. WE sometimes suppose that Christ just needs to carry us to our destination. Since we dont know where He leads us, we take the lazy man's way and say; you do all the work Lord. Unfortunately it doesnt work that way. Matthew 16:24 If any man will come after Me, let him deny himself and take up his cross, and follow Me. Jesus has required that we work alongside of Him. As long as we match Him step for step, we have peace. It is when we try to lead the team, that we become frustrated and confused. WE struggle and strain, only to find we have gone nowhere; or even worse, we have turned the team around and are heading in the opposite direction. WE seek rest and peace, then let us follow Him without question. Step for step, moment by moment, day by day. We will move mountains, one stone at a time!! God Bless.

SMOKING PEWS & FLAMING SHIRT-TAILS
March 5, 2008
1Peter 4:18 AND IF THE RIGHTEOUS SCARCELY BE SAVED, WHERE SHALL THE UNGODLY AND THE SINNER APPEAR? Ask any person you know if they want to go to Heaven or Hell, and they will tell you Heaven. Yet, most live like the devil. Holiness is not a topic you will hear discussed at the office or the hardware. You will hear about who sinned and their particular offence. SHAMEFUL !! Luke 6:41 And why beholdest thou the mote that is in your brothers eye, but percievest not the beam that is in thine own eye? We choose to judge others faults without ever acknowledging our own to the Father. Sadly, there will be many who ride their pew straight to Hell. 1 Peter 4:17 For the time is come that judgement must begin at the house of God: and if it first begin at us,what shall the end be of them that obey not the gospel of God? We are supposed to be light unto a dark world. Yet we appear to reflect the same conditions that the world suffers from, God forgive us. The Angels cry HOLY, HOLY, HOLY, our very lives should scream out HOLY, HOLY, HOLY. Jesus is coming back!! He is coming for a church without spot or wrinkle; why then do we look like Leopards and Zebras? Let us repent this day. Ask God to restore us and extinguish the flames that are smoldering around our pews. I personally dont want to get to Heaven with my shirt-tail on fire! No reward in that. I want to hear my Lord say, "Well done good and faithful servant. May God Bless you today and guide your heart.

FREE-RANGE CHICKENS
March 2, 2008
2Thessalonians 3:11-15 For we hear that there are some who walk among you disorderly, (live irresponsibly) working not at all, but are busibodies. Now them that are such we command and exhort by our LOrd Jesus Christ, that with quietness they work, and eat their own bread. But ye brethren, be not weary in well doing. And if any man obey not our epistle, note that man, and have no company with him, that he may be ashamed. Yet count him not as an enemy, but admonish him as a brother. How many times have you known someone who absolutely lives by their own rules. They refuse to comply with the rules of society on any level. They like to consider themselves NON-CONFORMISTS, when the truth is, that it is simple REBELLION. I know that in my own life there was a time when I made up the rules that I would live by. Guess what, they did not comply with the rules and laws of normal society. The result was spiritual starvation and disaster. You think you can live life by your own standards, however you eventually run afowl of the law. Proverbs 11:10 When it goeth well with the righteous, the city rejoiceth: and when the wicked perish, there is shouting. This should not be! We should weep and lament, when the wicked perish in their sins. Matthew 18:14 Even so it is not the will of your Father which is in Heaven, that one of these little ones should perish. God does not want anyone to go to Hell. However there will be a judgement upon all men. We have been given a strong command in Ezekiel 33:6 But if the watchman see the sword come, and take away any person from among them, he is taken away in his iniquity; but his blood I will require at thine hand. We are supposed to love people into the Kingdom. I find that most people who are living by their own standards are really seeking to fulfill a deep emptiness inside them. They try everything under the sun to fill the gaping hole in their heart; only to find emptiness. Lets not judge those who havent come to the "trough" to find nourishment. Lets instead give them the substance they need. Show them how to get to where the nourishment and fulfilment lies. There isnt much to eat out there on the range. Our troughs are full and there is always room for one more. Let us remember the time when we were out there "free-ranging," looking for nourishment. Mark 16:15 Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature. God Bless.
1 Corinthians 1:27 But God hath chosen the foolish things of the world to confound the wise; and God hath chosen the weak things of the world to confound the things which are mighty. I witnessed a man at church last night run to the podium and start jumping up and down. He said God told him to act the fool for Jesus. He said, at first he dismissed the thought; because it was not normal behavior. The Holy Spirit would not leave him alone until he obeyed. The result was an "outpouring" of the Holy Spirit !! Two other men who had struggled with addiction were set free. Delivered by the power of Jesus Blood. Have you ever felt God tugging on you? Pulling you out of your chair to act? I know you have, if you have excepted Christ. You probably responded during an "alter call". What about those times when The Holy Spirit is tugging at your heart to speak; and you remain silent, gripped with fear. Wondering what people will say about you or do; if you speak out of turn. You look at your morning church bulletin and it doesnt have a time slotted for you to share what God has given you. Ephesians 6:19 And for me, that utterance may be given unto me, that I may open my mouth boldly, to make known the mystery of the gospel. We are all ministers of Christ; If we possess Him in our heart. You cannot hide what is inside you!! If you let loose and let God guide you; all Hell will take notice of it. Obediance is the key!! God doesnt seek to make you look stupid; He wants to see your heart. God did not intend to let Abraham kill Isaac; He simply wanted to know how far Abraham would go, to obey Him. Are you feeling like your in the desert right now? Think back to the last time God asked you to do something and you did not do it. Go and do that which was asked of you and get ready for the rain. Acts2:17 And it shall come to pass in the last days, saith God, I will pour out my Spirit on all flesh. It will pour over you like a waterfall, drenching you in peace and power. Dont you want to be drenched in the Spirit of God? I know I sure do! Lord give me a double helping of that Manna! I pray you and I will be released to obey when we hear the voice of God! May you be blessed today.

OVERCOMING FAILURE
February 25, 2008
Matt 26:34 Jesus said unto him, Verily I say unto thee, that this night, before the cock crow, thou shall deny me thrice. Peter had just finished saying that he would not be offended because of Christ ; yet this was Jesus' reply to him. Jesus knew what weakness lie in Peter's heart : FEAR of man. John 21:3 Simon Peter saith unto them, I go a fishing. His declaration wasnt that he wanted to catch fish; he was returning to his "old way of life." He had been disallussioned by the death of Jesus. He failed the Lord on several occasions. Have you ever failed God? I have and have learned to repent, then get up and go forward. Lets move further in time and look at Peter. Acts 3:6 Then Peter said, Silver and Gold have I none; but such as I have give I unto thee: In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth rise up and walk!! I know many have heard this story, but lets look from a different angle. Peter had not long since denied Jesus, then he turned his back on Him. Yet just a short time later we see Peter begin to heal people with the POWER of Christ. How can this be? Peter had repented and allowed God to use him. Have you ever failed and felt unworthy? Peter did. Have you ever judged someone by their past and dismissed their message about God? What if the lame man had said," I know you, your that guy who denied Jesus." Guess what ; he would not have gotten healed ! Too often we want to shoot the messenger; so we dismiss the message as worthless. Dont deny the power of God!! If you have fallen down and failed God; get up. We have an advocate with the Father, His name is Jesus. If you dont know Him, ask Him to rescue you from a condemnded world. Dont let your past or someone elses stop you from seeing the Power of God manifested around you, and in you. The lame man went into the temple jumping and shouting and praising God. I am almost certain that some Pharisee came and told that man to stop causing a scene. He was worshipping God in a way not prescribed by the tenets of their religion. Dont be offended by someone elses worship and please dont let others hinder you from praising God ; with all you heart, mind, body, and soul. Dont let failure stop you. Release everything you are to God and watch what He does in your life. May the Power of God be manifested in your life today! God Bless.

Simple Thank You's
February 23, 2008
Psalm136:1 O give thanks unto the Lord, for He is good; and His mercy endureth forever. We are supposed to be thankful for what we have. Too often, we are not grateful; in fact, we are grumbling about the things we dont have. We find ourselves quite dissatisfied with our circumstances and struggle to see the blessings in front of us. Did you wake up this morning? Well, praise God ! Did you have a roof over your head this morning? I bet you did. If you are reading this right now you are sitting in front of your computer. Everyone doesnt own one! Start to examine the simple things in life. It is in these things that you will see miracles. We look for the "Parting of the RED SEA," when we dont even notice the sunrise. I happen to be blessed enough to live beside the Appalachicola Bay; the sunsets over the gulf are spectacular. The sky turns bright orange and purple streaks running through it. I look at these everyday occurances and know God is there. Psalms 97:6 The heavens declare His righteousness, and all the people see His glory. Jesus told us in John14:27 Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let your heart not be troubled, neither let it be afraid. Begin to just thank God for the little things; and soon you will be thanking Him for the big things. You will begin to find that you will be always grateful for what you have. Do you have shoes? Many around the world don't. Just begin to praise Him !! I awoke this morning to hear my spirit singing "How great is our God". So I began to examine all He does for me and my family. Try sitting down and putting on paper what God has done for you today. You will be amazed at your answers. The peace that Jesus wants you to have will come flooding in and sweep over you. The more you praise, the more God's glory will surround you. God inhabits the praises of His people. Where He is, Peace is. True peace brings thankfulness. Try a simple thank you today!! God Bless.

Waterpots & Wells
February 19, 2008
John 4:7 There cometh a woman of Samaria to draw water: Jesus saith unto her, "Give me to drink." This woman carried a burden and needed to have her burdens removed, yet the Lord asked her to do something for Him. Her first response was, Why are you asking me. She used the excuse of, I am a Samaritan, you are a Jew, and we dont have anything to do with each other. This was a handy excuse, to releive herself from any obligation; concerning other people, not like herself. Watch what Jesus does; He asks her to go call her husband. She responds that she has no husband. Jesus tells her that in fact she has had 5 husbands, but the man she is now with, wont even marry her. She say's, " I percieve that thou art a prophet." She had just been exposed. Let us note a few other things here. (1) The women would go out to draw water early in the day. (2) She was here at lunchtime. (3) She carried more than just a waterpot; she carried the burden of shame. The other women ridiculed her and made her to feel unwelcome. The man she lived with considered her unworthy of marriage. She had been reduced to no more than a concubine and household servant. An awesome thing takes place here; she leaves her waterpot, goes to town and tells everyone about Jesus. She left her BURDENS behind her. She did not care that the people considered her of no worth. She had just met the redeemer and needed to tell everyone. John 4:29 Come, see a man, which told me all things that ever I did: is not this the Christ? She no longer cared what people thought of her. Redemtion has a way of putting things in perspective. A woman whom nobody wanted to be around, now boldy brings a message of salvation. Look what happens: Then they went out of the city and came unto Him. Has God been asking something from you? Have you been making excuses of why it is impossible. Leave your" waterpot" behind you today. Throw fear out the window and begin to tell the people," Come see a man!!" Watch what God does for them, and for you. Jesus will remove the stains of guilt & shame from you. There is a well, that supplies a fountain of blood. The blood that Jesus shed for you. It will wash you and cleanse you of ALL unrighteousness. Go forward today and proclaim loudly, that Jesus is Lord! God Bless.

Carpenters Tools

Jesus was a carpenter by trade, as was his earthly father Joseph. Think about this, the very things that the Messiah worked with to earn a living; wood, hammer, nails; are the very instruments that were used to end his earthly life. Coincidence? I cant say from a theological stance; however, I personally think it was intended to be so. I have found that God tends to send people into areas that they have been delivered from, to speak to others about Jesus. You see, no matter how well intentioned a person may be about ministering to someone else; they can only minister out of their experience. For example: A person who is struggling with a crack addiction is not gonna listen to someone who doesn't know what crack is all about. Why? Because the addict needs somebody that God has freed from this nightmare, to show them that hope is real! I have learned that we can minister most effectively from our past mistakes. I cannot truly bare my brothers burdens, when I've not walked in his shoes. Paul spoke about grace and the redemptive power of Christ. Paul knew something about it. Christ had redeemed him from his murderous ways and religious spirit. Grace was given him, yet he was still plagued by things of his past. God saves a man, fills him with the Holy Spirit, disciples him, and sends him right back where he came from. To often we think that once we are saved we no longer have anything to do with our past life. While it is true that we no longer participate in our past sins; we do stand as a light in a dark world. What better testimony than to see someone who has been delivered from sin, telling those who sinned with him about what Jesus has done for them. Hebrews 11:1 Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. Miracles take place all around us everyday and most of us just plainly dont recognize them. I tell you the greatest miracle ever performed in the christians life; is when Christ entered your heart. God parted the Red Sea for the Isrealites, yet their heart remained the same. We have seen greater things, so our hope is right in front of us,in the mirror. Where have you come from? Next time you ask God what He wants from you, remember your past and begin to minister there!! May God bless you today
